Cullen Granara and Robbie Granara combined to score nine goals as top-seeded Reading (20-1) advanced to the Div. 2 semifinals with a 14-9 win over eighth-seeded Walpole.
CLASS NOTES
The MBCA will be hosting a tripleheader on Thursday at Rotondi Field/Howard Park in Malden featuring the top underclassmen baseball talent in the state. The action starts at 3 with a Best of the East battle between the Juniors and Sophomores, followed by the Juniors Select Game and capped off with the Sophomore Select Game.
On Tuesday, June 20, the Central vs, Western Mass. Senior Select Game will take place at Shaw Field in Millbury (6:30 p.m. first pitch). The following night, the Eastern Mass. Select Game pitting the top players from the North and South will play at BC High’s Monan Field (6:30 p.m.).
The ISL Underclass All-Star Game will be played on Thursday night at Harvard (6 p.m.). The day promises to offer an opportunity to showcase each individual player’s talents alongside the best uncommitted players in the league in front of college coaches from the region and around the country.
